Looking to improve your children's speaking and listening?
Run out of ideas for bringing stories to life?
Struggling to teach dance; is it dance or is it gym?
Need fresh ideas for a creative curriculum?
Do your teachers need a confidence boost for teaching music?
Inspiring, sustainable, motivating and exciting, this is how we feel Inset Training should be.
We are able to cover a wide variety of subjects and can cater for individual needs and requirements within any art form or a combination. As well as staff training, demonstration lessons can also be included if requested.
If you would like your staff to take part in a worthwhile one day or after-school arts based training session, then please contact us for availability and further information.
As well as working within schools, we can also provide training to any organisation that would benefit from our skills. For example, we have recently worked with Child Minders in Luton - see below.
Here are examples of some inset topics -
Peculiar Productions provided two workshops for an NCMA conference, 'How to bring traditional stories to life' and 'All about me', an exploration of children's feelings and emotions through the arts. Here are some comments from the participants.
"Provided great ideas about facial expressions and emotions".
"LOVED Peculiar Productions, wonderful quality tips".
"Looking forward to teaching children some new fun ideas".
"Very informative and practical, I had a great time!!"
"It was presented in a very positive manner and showed you how to have fun and not look stupid".
"I took in some wonderful ideas, thank you!"
“Thank you so much for the training day - it got the term off to an excellent start. Everyone is feeling much more positive so we have begun to make steps in the right direction. I’m sure you’ll be pleased to know we sang in assembly and everyone took part!! Hope it won’t be too long before we see you.”
“Peculiar Productions has worked successfully with the staff providing worthwhile and entertaining INSET on training days. Last year we danced, laughed and sang as we focused on multi-cultural and anti-racist education.”

“I have worked with Peculiar Productions for many years and been privileged to benefit from their great musical talent. I have been involved in the music and dance production for children at the Royal Albert Hall, participated in brilliant teacher inset sessions on creating music (even using a carrier bag!), and have seen the benefits of the workshops for children at my school, one of which was on the music and dance of Trinidad. Thus I have had first hand experience of the enthusiasm for music that they communicate to children. They are keen, eager active and true professionals. I recommend their work to anyone unreservedly.”

“As music co-ordinator at Bushmead Primary School Julia has surpassed all our expectations. As a result of her enthusiasm, dedication and teaching skills music thrives as a subject in our school. Julia organises a variety of out of school clubs and these are well attended. The school choir is a particular source of pride as Julia has taken them to new heights. Their efforts are much appreciated by all members of the school community. Every school deserves a Julia!”
